YouTube has announced the end of the Stories feature on its platform. This feature was introduced in 2018 and was quite popular among creators.
According to a statement released by YouTube, the company will now focus on community posts and short video section shorts instead of Stories
The statement said that June 26, 2023 will be the last day to post stories after which it will no longer be possible to use them
Stories posted on June 26 will be visible on the platform until July 3, after which the feature will officially end.
The company said that users are already provided with tools to engage their audience in the form of shorts, live and community posts.
It should be noted that the community posts feature was recently introduced which can only be used when a YouTube channel has 1000 subscribers.
YouTube Stories was introduced by the video sharing platform in competition with the popular Stories feature of Instagram and Snapchat. However, this feature was not very popular among the general users.
